Scouting Fundraiser Goal

AREA B HEREBY CHALLENGES AREAS A and C TO MEET OR EXCEED OUR SCOUTING FUNDRAISER GOAL.  Area B is raising funds for Scouting from March to June.  AREAS A and C are hereby challenged to match or exceed what Area B collects.  The winning Area will be duly recognized at the Annual Convention in June. Each Post has been challenged to raise at least $5 (or more) per member.  The funds will be deposited (as detailed in the flyer) for award at the Annual Convention.

Since Area A mostly encompasses the Tucson/Catalina Council, their funds will be directed to enhance programs in that council.  Area B and most of Area C cover Grand Canyon Council, and the majority of the funds will be donated to that council.  A small part of Area C has Scouting units that fall to the Las Vegas and Great Southwest (Albuquerque) Councils.  In short, assistance will be provided through the applicable councils to ensure their programs in Arizona are augmented through efforts of our Legionnaires.

Collect funds between now and June 1st.  Send funds to Department HQ as suggested on the attached flyer.  SAL and Auxiliary members are invited to participate.

The American Legion has supported Scouting since 1919.  Scouting falls under the Pillar of Americanism.  By each member doing a little, a LOT can be done to enhance the programs that have proven to be foremost in character and leadership development for youth.  If there was ever a time that our future demanded responsible leadership, now is the time.  Let’s show the kids that we really do care about providing them opportunities for growth and success.
