TRIVIA
American Legion Baseball alumni have been managers for both the best and worst modern-era opening streaks in major league history. Frank Robinson (Post 237/Pleasonton, Calif.) was manager for 15 of Baltimore’s 21 straight losses to open the 1988 season after replacing Cal Ripken Sr., who lost the first six games. And Kevin Cash (Post 111/Tampa, Fla.) and Tampa Bay opened the 2023 season 13-0, tying the modern-era mark.
