Robert “Bob” James Hicks, age 84, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 19, 2024. Born on December 6, 1939, Bob was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend.
He proudly served his country for 23 years in the Navy, including a tour in Vietnam. Bob was a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 29 for 43 years and a cherished comrade in the 40 & 8, Voiture 35, for 39 years. He held the esteemed position of Grand Chef de Gare in 1999 and took great pride in serving as the Silent Soldier in the third degree of the initiation process for many years.
Bob is survived by his daughters Johnnie, Jennifer, and Shirley; his grandchildren Christopher, Nikita, Haley, Steven, Joel Anthony, Richard, Nicky, Robert, and Annie; and nine great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
