Another successful Mohave Run in the books. A fun filled schedule as we hosted our National guest Vice Commander Edwards. We started at post 56 as they hosted the National Auxiliary President Lisa Williamson. It was a great night of a wonderful meal and special friends and family. They also had some Veterans from the local Veterans Home with us at dinner.
Next onto our Post visit in Quartzite Arizona at Post 113/ VFW Post 769, they are making strides in membership and finally have an office in back funded with Grants which is coming along great. They are all about community and it shows.
From there, we ventured onto VFW Post 7061 in Parker for our annual revitalization. We even made some time to drive around the neighborhood, and do some door knocking to give an up close and personal visit to some members with National Vice Commander Edwards. NVCDR Edwards really enjoyed his visit
Our last stop of the Mohave Run was in Lake Havasu City Arizona at Post 81 where we participated in their annual Swap Meet Car Show. Commander Steve Sperl gave his Commanders choice award to the owner of a beautiful 1953 Chevy pickup. We then followed up Sunday, with participating in the annual Chuck Howell Poker Walk. An unbelievable great time with some amazing awards and winners. Post 81 did an amazing job hosting this event and showing our national guest what it truly means to “Be The One”.
In between the Car Show in Lake Havasu, we managed to scoot up to Post 136 in Yucca Arizona. The work they have done, and continue to do is nothing short of gods work. They have started a St Marys Food Bank and feed over 150 community family meals. The amount of lives they have touched is truly amazing, and deserve national attention which will be coming soon! They continue to serve the area of Yucca and serve our Veterans with honor and distinction.
