I was given the distinct honor of speaking to a group of the “Greatest Generation” at a Quilts of Honor presentation and wishing retired Lt. Colonel Oliver Franklin Cole of the Army Air Corps a happy 104th birthday. He served as a pilot during WWII and Korea, then on strategic mission planning during the Vietnam War.
LTC Cole was interviewed by the Library of Congress, giving his life story and his distinguished service in the military. I enjoyed speaking with this humble man and hope some of his vast wisdom rubbed off on me.
