Subject: Celebrating Our Birthday and Strengthening Our Ranks
Date: March 15, 2025
Greetings, fellow Legionnaires,
Today, March 15th, marks the 106th birthday of our beloved American Legion. As we celebrate this significant milestone, I want to express my deep gratitude for your unwavering dedication and service. It is your commitment that drives our organization and enables us to continue our mission.
In honor of our birthday, and recognizing the critical role of our members, I am announcing a special initiative. For the next 30 days, from March 15th to April 14th, 2025, the Department of Arizona will waive per capita for all NEW Legion members (this does not include ALA or S.A.L.).
I am also calling upon each Post in the state to join me in this effort. I strongly encourage each Post to waive their per capita for NEW members during this period which would allow new members to sign up for only $23.50 due to National for their first year. This will provide a unique opportunity to welcome more veterans into our fold and showcase the value of our organization.
Our collective strength lies in our numbers. By extending this invitation, we can ensure that more veterans experience the camaraderie, support, and opportunities that the American Legion offers. We may need their assistance, and we should be ready to welcome them.
Let us use this occasion to strengthen our ranks and reaffirm our commitment to serving veterans, their families, and our communities. If your post is willing to take advantage of this opportunity, all NEW members will need to be processed via traditional transmittals, as MyLegion will not allow you to remove per capita. For questions, please contact headquarters directly.
Thank you for your continued leadership and dedication.
Sincerely,
Manny Beltran
State Commander
American Legion Department of Arizona
