Commander Vaughan visits Post 123 in Seligman
I would like to thank the vast majority of posts and members who supported my campaign for Department Commander and cast their delegate votes in my favor. I intend to work very hard to ensure our Legion remains on track to help meet the needs of our veterans, while also fulfilling the key aspects of our Four Pillars. Our organization is simply too important, with incredible capabilities, to miss opportunities to ensure veteran needs are managed appropriately.
To move forward, I have our key staff cleaning up some administrative concerns and oversights. Then, on 27 July 2025, at Post 1, starting at 0900, we will hold our annual organizational meeting. I expect to provide several Legionnaires with new opportunities to serve. I learned during my travels around the state that many have a desire to share their talents for the good of our organization and members.
If you want to serve on a particular committee, even to the point of me starting new adhoc/specific-purpose committees, please contact me right away at: commander@azlegion.org.
For now, it is imperative that each post immediately finalize their CPR data and provide new officer contact information so we can update our databases with essential information. With the number of votes I received from you, it is clear that you and I are both desirous of a new way forward. It will happen.
Again, I thank you for your trust and confidence as we set out on a new mission with our members’ best interests in mind. If you desire to be a part of the next chapter in Arizona, let me know, and be prepared to work with me to accomplish our goals. I am grateful for those who have already stepped up and accepted positions, but there are still several to fill.
