Legislative CALL TO ACTION. Yes, this is short notice, but we had little notice of the action taking place. We MUST stop any progress of AZ SB 1803, better known as the CLAIM SHARK BILL. This bill allows unaccredited organizations to work on veterans’ claims and receive portions of their deserved compensation that would otherwise be provided free of charge. Rally at the state capitol: Monday, February 9th, 1230, at the flagpole area between the House and Senate buildings at our state capitol’s east complex. At 1330, as seats become available, we will enter the committee hearing room and listen to leaders of The American Legion, VFW, DAV, UAV, and more testify to halt the bill’s progress. New member of HQ Staff: Meet Emily Burks, our newest addition to the Headquarters staff. Emily is originally from the Philippines and grew up in Texas. She has her Master’s Degree in Social Work with several years of experience at the VA. She is our new Administrative Assistant and looks forward to meeting everyone.
