Promote Your Legion Activity!
Arizona’s American Legion Baseball championship tournament begins July 13 at 5:00 PM at Paradise Valley High School, 3950 E Bell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032. Games continue July 14 and, if necessary, July 15. You are, of course, invited to attend. However, that is only a secondary purpose for this message.
During each game we will have a public address announcer with time to fill. This is a great opportunity to promote Legion programs and activities. The majority of our spectators will not be current American Legion members. Most will be players, parents and family members, high school students, and people who somehow find the event. Few of the people in attendance will know a lot about the American Legion or its activities. If you, or a program you work with, or your post, have an upcoming event or activity you want to publicize, here is your opportunity.
Please offer one or several concise messages to promote your activity. Each “announcement” script should be a message that can be read in about 15 seconds. The subject is wide open – anything that is American Legion related and suitable for the public. Just a few examples:
– Post membership drive
– Any special event
– Pancake breakfast
– Bingo night
– Legion Rider appearance
– Boys State or Girls State participant recruiting
– Recognition for any significant individual accomplishment
– An appeal for Oratorical judges
– Shooting sport upcoming event
Here is the best part: There is no charge for an announcement! This tournament gives Legion Baseball an opportunity to support the Department by spreading the word about American Legion activities. Please help us promote the program(s) you care about!
Send your announcement(s) by email message ASAP to:

Important: Include your full contact information. I plan to follow-up with you in case I have questions about your activity.
Last thought: Tournament admission is free to Legionnaires, Sons, Auxiliary members, and active duty military members, each with one guest, so bring your membership cards. There will be a modest admission charge for the general public.
