The Department Committee on Committees endorses Steve Sperl, Area A Vice Commander, as the Leading Candidate for 2022-2023. Having been endorsed as Leading Candidate, Legionnaire Sperl will also assume the role of Membership Director for 2022-2023. Congratulations Steve!
The Department Committee on Committees is charged with selecting an applicant for Leading Candidate from submissions made each year by each Area’s Credentials Committee. The Area A Credentials Committee reviewed and recommended the applicant packet submitted by Legionnaire Sperl, on or before the established due date, for review and subsequent action by the Committee on Committees. After a thorough review of Legionnaire Sperl’s applicant packet (which included his resume, credentials worksheet, and letters of recommendation) the Committee on Committees determined that Legionnaire Sperl was eminently qualified carry out the responsibilities of the Leading Candidate and of the Membership Director.
Note: The Committee on Committees was notified via separate correspondence from both the Area B and Area C Credentials Committees that they did not have applicant packets from their respective Areas to submit for review.

Please review the most recent report from the Committee on Committees Chairman PDC Ken Queen. The committee has begun the process of determining the policies of reviewing candidates for Department Committees and National appointment to Committees and Commissions. The information attached to this message will allow candidates an opportunity to view the authorization for this new policy and identifies the credentials committees within their Areas. There will soon be more information on the process and how Legionnaires can submit their interest and qualifications for these committees.
